What camera do you use to film tutorials?
In the videos posted before February 6, 2011, I used a Samsung SMX F40, but all videos posted after February 6th are filmed using a Canon Vixia HF S20! Finally filming in HD!
What camera do you use for stills/blog photographs?
I use my Canon Rebel DSLR.
What lighting do you use for filming tutorials and taking photographs?
I use fluorescent lights because I find they show the truest color.
What editing software do you use?
I edit videos using iMovie on my MacBook.
What do you use to design/edit your website?
My website is run through blogger, or blogspot.com. My background is a custom photograph and I have edited almost every aspect of the page, making it unique to my style and taste!
How did you get started with makeup?<
I have always had a passion for the beauty industry, and first decided to pursue my interest in cosmetics by becoming an Independent Sales Representative with Mark. by Avon. I had a great time trying and selling the various products, so I decided to take the next step and become certified in Make-up Artistry. I took a four month course and received a certification in Make-up Artistry. However, you do not necessarily need to be certified to be a Free-Lance Make-up Artist. I chose this path because I wanted to learn and further my growth in the industry.
What made you decide to start posting videos on YouTube?
I came across the YouTube beauty community and instantly fell in love. I love helping and teaching people and I wanted to share my love and passion for the industry with anyone willing to watch.
What does ColorSweptBeauty mean and how did you come up with that name?
ColorSweptBeauty is an original name that I put together for fun, its meaning represents the many colors of makeup and the beauty that it brings.
What made you decide to create a blog?
I decided to create this blog to give the viewers of my YouTube channel a place to see swatches and further analyses of products that I discuss in my videos. I am also studying English at a University and will receive a BA in the Spring of 2011, so naturally, I love to write. Writing is a great way to present ones thoughts, opinions, and ideas to an audience composed of various individuals. I hope to make this blog a fun and interactive place for my readers to learn about products, view tutorials, and participate in discussions, polls, etc. I hope you all enjoy and Happy reading!
